Elementary learning
Educating students in kindergarten through 5th grade
The elementary program is based on the belief that all children are valuable and unique individuals, capable of learning, and that children learn best when the home, school and community work together as a team. Our schools provide safe, nurturing and challenging environments in which children can acquire knowledge and skills, think critically and creatively, appreciate diversity and develop positive attitudes towards self and others.

Instructional materials review
The School Board recognizes the right of district residents, parents, and guardians of district students, adult students, and district employees to examine instructional resources and the responsibility of individual parents to monitor resources selected for their children. Policy 603.0 allows parents and the community to review curriculum and instructional materials. Parents may request that specific instructional resources be excluded or restricted for their child and that the school provide reasonable alternative instruction. Parents who would like to review instructional materials and/or request alternative instruction should contact their child’s principal. The principal will coordinate with the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department to arrange to have materials available and prepared for their review.
